Local home winemaker Joe Diponzio won Best of Show at the Pittsburgh American Wine Society wine competition for his Traminette/Aromella blend. Both of these grapes were developed by Cornell, with the Aromella one of their most recently named new grape varieties.
One of the key chefs behind the locavore movement in the Finger Lakes is Orlando Rodriguez. After about a dozen years as the Executive Chef at Glenora’s Veraisons Restaurant, he purchased Graft Wine & Cider Bar in Watkins Glen in late 2019.
The featured interview is with Colleen Hardy from Living Roots Winery in Rochester, which makes wine in both the Finger Lakes and Australia. They are offering window pickup service at their University Avenue winery tasting room during this shutdown.
